The Biblical holiday commonly referred to as Shavuot (literally 'weeks') or Pentecost, occurring seven weeks after Passover, marks the day when God revealed the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai. While virtually everyone has heard of these Ten Commandments, few people today are able to name them all. There are many fascinating questions about these commandments. This lecture explores the background, structure and contents of what is probably one of the most recognizable parts of the Torah.
